Replacement Gym Cable Frequently
Asked Questions
Do you provide a warranty on the
new cables?
Answer: Yes.
The new cables are guaranteed against manufacturer’s defects
for six months from the date of purchase. Please be aware
that this warranty does not cover damage to the cable caused
by improper installation, abuse or misuse, damage caused by the
cable coming off a pulley or otherwise being derailed or scraping
against any part of the frame.
How long will it take for me to
receive the replacement gym cable?
Answer: Once
we receive your authorization, the new cable typically will be
fabricated within two business days. Then they will be
shipped via Fedex ground to your location.
What colors are available?
Answer: The
sheathing on the cables is available in two colors, black and
clear. We will try to match your original color whenever possible.
How can I pay for my order?
Answer: The
payment terms are by credit card. We accept Visa, MasterCard
and Discover.
Why can’t you fabricate all
gym cables?
Answer: Although
we can replicate most gym cables, due to the proprietary fittings
on the ends of some gym cables, those cables can only be supplied
by the original equipment manufacturer.
How do I know if a cable should
be replaced?
Answer: SOME
of the common signs of wear are: missing or damaged sheathing,
broken wire strands, visible rust near the ends of the cable
(near the fittings), permanent crimps in the cable and bulges
in the cable that may indicate concealed broken strands. This
list is not comprehensive and is intended as a general guide.
Also, please note, some manufacturers
recommend the replacement of gym cables at specified intervals
(such as every year or two) because catastrophic cable failure
can be difficult to predict. Always consult your owner’s
manual for guidelines. If there is any doubt as to the
integrity of a cable, it is safer and wiser to replace it. The
use of a marginally damaged gym cable could cause SERIOUS INJURY
to the user.
Why do I have to send you my original
cable?
Answer: Because
there is such a variety of gym cables on so many brands and models
of equipment, the best way for us to accurately match your original
cable is for us to have access to it.
How do I properly care for gym cables?
Answer: In
addition to the guidelines in your owner’s manual, monthly
gym cables should be closely inspected along their entire length,
checking for any imperfections or signs of wear. Also,
make sure that all cables are securely attached to weight stacks
or other anchor points.
Although cables eventually wear
out, many are damaged prematurely by worn or chipped pulleys,
coming off a pulley or scraping on a piece of the frame. When
using the unit, avoid rapid movements, especially with light
weights, since this frequently causes a cable to derail.
